Heroes Week Begins with Flag-Lined Welcome at Huntsville International Airport

Public is invited to participate with flags, patriotic colored clothing, and signage

 

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., November 3, 2021 – The public is invited to join the Semper Fi CommunityTask Force and Huntsville International Airport in welcoming Veteran honorees to Heroes Week on Nov. 5, 2021.

The Veterans will arrive at the airport Friday, and at 2:45 p.m., they will walk through a ceremonial flag line organized by Semper Fi.

Participants are encouraged to arrive at 2:30 p.m., wear patriotic colors and bring U.S. flags and welcome signs to the Welcome Lobby on the second floor of Huntsville International Airport, 1000 Glenn Hearn Blvd. in Huntsville. The lobby is adjacent to the TSA checkpoint area. Participants are not permitted to enter the secure gate area behind TSA. The 313th Army Band from Redstone Arsenal will provide musical entertainment.

The Veterans will be escorted by motorcycles and Law Enforcement to their hotel at 3:45 p.m.

Masks are required when inside Huntsville International Airport in all indoor areas. Please park only in designated airport parking areas and not in front of the terminal in waiting areas or drop-off lanes. Participants are responsible for their own parking fees.
